What does a paper pellet mill do?

Most of the talk on alternative fuels is always about wood pellets that have substantially grown in their popularity over the years. Wood pellets are produced for home use as well as commercial purposes which has seen their demand rise as well. However, there are other types of pellets that are also being embraced by those interested in using pellets as fuel and one of them is paper pellets. These paper pellets are made in a machine known as paper pellet mill that is widely available.

The production of paper pellets has easily been embraced in response to the large amount of waste paper that is thrown away after being used for purposes such as packaging among others. The pellets can be made from ordinary paper or even cardboard which are compressed and used as fuel in boilers as well as pellet stoves. The main machinery for producing these pellets is the paper pellet mill which takes the raw material, usually paper through a number of processes to come up with this alternative fuel.

Paper pellet mills are used to produce pellets in a way that is similar to the production of wood pellets, with the exception of the raw material. However, when milling cardboard that is very dry to make paper pellet mills, there is need to lightly spray it with water so that the particles are fluffy due to the static charge on the paper particles. When the particles of the paper are ready they are then pressed under intense pressure and passed through a “die” to be able to bond and then become pellets which are used as fuel. Nevertheless, when using pellets produced from a paper pellet mill, there is a lot of ash that will be generated that may hinder the proper working of a stove.
